FRIT 7232- Book Trailer:
For this project, I made a book trailer using iMovie, and then YouTube to present this video. I used copyright free images for the slide show piece, and filmed myself throughout the video. This was a great artifact that shows the use of technology to preset a book. This would be a great project for students in an English/Language Arts. |
FRIT 7232:
For my instructional design class, we had to design a class to be taught to a specific set of teachers. I had to create the class, and then I used Screencast-O-Matic to record myself teaching the class through the use of the learning tool. |

Like the artifact above, this artifact was used for my Professional Development project I did during the duration of my instructional technology coursework. I created the prezi as a tool to supplement the teaching during the EDMODO presentation.

To the left I have attached the evaluation plan that can be used for several different things. You can use the plan to evaluate technology usage in the classroom, and you can also use this plan to troubleshoot common classroom problems associated with hardware and software.

Reflection
I am a huge fan of a strong technological environment. In my classroom, even before this program, I included technology into my classroom for projects and other summative assessments. For example, last year during my science class we were talking about earth systems, and for the cumulating summative task we did a weather report. Some teachers would give pen and paper exams, but my class (MOID Special Education self-contained) created weather reports using iMovie, and then using youtube to share the video. I did this for several of the projects above. In FRIT 7232 we created several technology themed project including podcasts, video podcasts, screencasts, and book trailers using iMovie. The artifacts I have listed is the book trailer, the EDMODO screencast, and a Prezi showcasing EDMODO capabilities. This was one of my favorite standards. Above I have attached several artifacts that show mastery in the elements listed below. The screencast for the EDMODO class masters almost all of these elements. The screencast shows several things. First it shows how to add teachers into different classes, and how to make co-teaching classrooms. IF co-teachers work together while using technology then the students will follow suit and should stay engaged in the learning environment (Element 3.1 and Element 3.6). While using the screencast, this shows that I can effectively manage digital tools (element 3.2) and because the screen cast is published on YouTube, the module is now and online and blended learning experience (element 3.3). Also as part of the EDMODO module, you will learn how to communicate with parents, staff, and students solely online(Element 3.7). Sometimes students need a little bit of help to get engaged in the classroom. To increase literacy, I attached a book trailer, that is very similar to a movie trailer. This use of technology is a great way to spark engagement in the student, and boost learning (element 3.4). The prezi attached also shows mastery in several elements as well. The prezi is an online learning tool that show that i can effectively model the use of digital tools(3.1 and 3.2), and appeal to different learners (3.3 and 3.4). I have also attached the evaluation plan that shows how we evaluate technology usage in the classroom. The evaluation plan can also be used to trouble shoot common hardware and software problems in the class room(3.6).
